Resumo
This article examines the psychological process through which proactive personality influences job engagement. Specifically, the study proposes that psychological safety mediates the relationship between proactive personality and job engagement. Data were collected from 349 Indonesian employees working across various organizations and analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results provide strong support for the proposed hypotheses and model. Proactive personality was found to be positively associated with psychological safety, which in turn was positively related to job engagement. Furthermore, psychological safety was confirmed as a significant mediator in this relationship. These findings suggest that fostering proactive employees and enhancing psychological safety may help organizations increase employee job engagement.
